BALKAN NETWORK FOR DRUG PREVENTION
BNDP

 

OBJECTIVES:

  • Co-ordinate common anti-drug actions of the cities in the region
  • Develop common preventive programs
  • Intensify contacts between institutions and non-governmental organisations to promote development of drug prevention programs along with know-how exchange.
  • Develop partnership programs "city to city" in the Balkan region.
  • Implement common projects within European health programmes.

 
TASKS:

  • Develop common strategies to limit circulation of narcotic substances
  • Develop a data base on methods of drug prevention in the countries of the Balkan region.
  • Arrange seminars and meetings on information and experience exchange, work schemes for municipalities in regard to drug policies, institutions, organisations and citizens working in the anti-drug field
  • Elaborate on drug preventive methods and exchange drug prevention programs.
  • Produce and distribute printed materials, audio-visual and electronic products on drug-related information
  • Publish an informative bulletin about the activities of the Balkan network for drugs prevention (BNDP).

 
PRELIMINARY ORGANISATIONAL STRUCTURE:

  • Members of the Balkan network for drugs prevention are the cities in the Balkan region which have signed the Declaration from the International ECAD conference "Cities of the Balkan region against drugs".
  • The Balkan network for drugs prevention works under the auspices of the organisation "European Cities Against Drugs", ECAD.
  • Status of BNDP is that of a non-governmental organisation.
  • Municipality of Bourgas undertakes to complete the project of the Statute of the Balkan network for drugs prevention and to co-ordinate activities in order to fulfil the above mentioned objectives and tasks.
  • Municipality of Bourgas undertakes to distribute documentation of the II International conference "Cities of the Balkan region against drugs" to all municipalities which participated in the conference and to all parties interested in joining BNDP.
  • BNDP's member cities are required to inform other participating parties about anti-drug policies and activities in their city.
  • Meetings of the members are planned to take place at least once a year.
  • Balkan network for drugs prevention will get its juridical status within a year
  • Conferences are planned be hold once in two years; the host city will be chosen by members at the end of the preceding conference.
