Global threats are very much local. Working on a local scene you have to take into account international dimension. For that matter, syndicates play a very significant role; these are one of the biggest organized challenges in the world…
Global threats undermine democratic values of our societies. Some political forces would identify global intertwining as a problem and demonize globalization. It is necessary to be aware that it can lead to ethnic cleansing and genocide.
We need to adopt a comprehensive approach. The reality in our streets is horizontal; notwithstanding, we tend to work digging deep in vertical direction.
We have to work together on peace, development, human rights, winning the war against corruption and organized crime, “together” is the most important word in this world.
Public sector needs to respond to public needs. When it comes to prevention, we have to deal with the problem locally, but we have to have strategies on a larger, global scale, to have strategy for poverty decline, strategy for dealing with unemployment and others.
If we adopt these strategies, work with commitment and have a passion for getting the things done we can talk about success. A combination of passion and compassion is my humble recipe of getting somewhere.
Nobody can do everything, but everybody can make something.
